Joke of the Day: Same word, different meaning in Malaysia vs rest of the world

Ok, sorry, recently i got all my jokes from Malaysian daily news and i hope you guys enjoyed it as much as i do.

Today’s joke will be on a statement made by Malaysian Home Ministry. Ok, maybe it’s time for us to create a dictionary for ourselves. We shall call it Malaysian dictionary and when we communicate with the rest of the world, we refer to the standard dictionary. Check this out:

The Home Ministry has told foreign diplomats that the use of ‘Allah’ by non-Muslims in Malaysia cannot be compared with other countries – just as apples cannot be compared with oranges.

So does that mean that as a non-Muslim myself, and if I’m in Malaysia, when i use the word ‘Allah’, I have to put a disclaimer or remark that I’m referring to the one used in Malaysia.

And when I travel abroad and talking to gwai lous (foreigners), i’ll have to tell them, Allah, oh the one you guys referring to and not the ones we referred to in Malaysia?

*scratching my head*
